What I am about to share is one of the most egregious abuses of power in the criminal justice system I've ever heard of. Took me a few weeks to gather this information. I just couldn't believe it. I saw what I thought I saw. Here we go...

MY LATEST. Meet Kevin Smith. That's the last known picture of him as a free man back in 2010. 8 years ago he was arrested on a drug charge in New Orleans. AND HE WAS NEVER CONVICTED. He's been in jail that whole time. Somehow, it gets worse... https://injusticetoday.com/louisiana-held-a-man-in-jail-for-over-8-years-without-ever-convicting-him-of-a-crime-8931040644b1 …pic.twitter.com/p4RWc31Ory

Without ever being convicted for a crime, Kevin was kept in jail on a drug charge for all of: 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 Then, in a decision I followed very closely, a judge ordered his release, stating that his constitutional right to a speedy trial was violatedpic.twitter.com/r8zchm3l8T

So, in November of 2017, having served 7 years in jail without ever being convicted of a crime, local news reports stated that Kevin Smith was going to be free in 2-3 days. http://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/news/courts/article_d76e9496-c995-11e7-bd8b-4bb8d14cacbf.html … I thought that was the end of if and that he would soon be free. I was wrong.

Having been jailed for 7 straight years without ever being convicted, a judge dismissed his case, and ordered him set free. To my surprise, it never happened. Kevin's still in jail RIGHT NOW. What I am about to tell you is as egregious an offense as anything you'll ever hear.

The State of Louisiana, having jailed Kevin Smith now for 8 years without ever convicting him of a crime, now says they are going to jail him to 2022 for not changing his mailing address properly 8 years ago. He's a for-profit prison. The owners are filthy rich.
