What I am about to share is one of the most egregious abuses of power in the criminal justice system I've ever heard of. Took me a few weeks to gather this information. I just couldn't believe it. I saw what I thought I saw. Here we go...

We need to end for-profit incarceration and deprivation of the right to vote for inmates who have served their sentences. These two issues are linked, by design.

It was also in Louisiana that Sheriff Steve Prator lamented the release of non-violent offenders because they'd lose "good workers who save them money." Even without a charge they must be loathe to lose Kevin Smith as part of their prison slavery industry.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/12/us/prison-reform-steve-prator.html …

But he was in prison, how was he supposed to change his address?
-
I mean... they KNEW exactly where he was, so... even if that would normally be a condition for probation or parole how can it be applied to someone who was already in a cell during that time? Why are they so determined to keep him locked up?

There is way more compassion, empathy and justice into the Wild (or even the Jungle) than in the American Justice System! Wild animals are less cruel than these For-Profit prison companies and the judges who enable them to dehumanise the poorest.

Horrifying! Terrible
#KevinSmith story's the reason WHY@Kaepernick7 takes a knee. And it's getting worse: since for-profit prisons need to get filled & those prisons make enormous campaign contributions courts & legislatures turn the other way.#VOTE 4 Campaign Finance Reform! Thanks.
