Thank you to @IanShapira of the Washington Post for telling the whole story of how we identified and tracked down Jacob Goodwin until he was arrested and convicted for what he did to DeAndre Harris.
We knew we could not let them get away with this.https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/white-supremacist-is-guilty-in-charlottesville-parking-garage-beating-of-black-man/2018/05/01/033396b4-4af9-11e8-8b5a-3b1697adcc2a_story.html?utm_term=.7d0df7d3c2fa …

That’s great...... but why does 5-20 sound like a ridiculous range??
-
Not to me. Seems fitting. There are a lot of people doing more time than that for pot.
-
You missed the point. Dude should be doin a range of 15-20. 5-20 reeks of he will be out in 5 1/2 and back up to his old tricks
-
I remain hopeful about the possibility of rehabilitation. I don't think we fix our societal problems through mass incarceration. He needs some serious education and deprogramming from his toxic white nationalist ideology, not more prison time
-
He totally deserves prison so don't take this wrong but prison is hardly a place for deprogramming. Odds are he will come out even more of a POS than he is now.
-
I think you're probably right, but that means we need to seriously transform prisons!
-
First off: de-privatize prisons. Nobody should be profiting from incarceration.
-
Key issue is low-level drug possession (mostly pot) + 3 strike laws = ruined lives, Prison warehouses: mostly POC in conservative states, while in other states pot is legal w/ no penalty whatsoever. Ruined lives on our dime profiting corporations.

Oh shit. That’s the guy from this documentary https://youtu.be/h4hZn_i-2nI
-
Thank you for the link. His parents show how rich the soil is for growing this kind of neonazi in the U.S. I feel bad for his brother who they basically abandoned because he isn’t a racist.

Unfortunately this man worked at a gas station close to my house. I spoke to him daily and never knew what a sick perish he was! Thankful he will get what he deserves. It just shows you never know what kind of mask and secrets a person hides from the world.
-
Sick person** lol sorry typo
-
Sick perish kinda works, somehow.
