Are we also going to mute everything sexual predator Harvey Weinstein touched. And what about the pedophile Woody Allen. Let's go after all of them. I'm seeing a pattern here where Black men are becoming the negative face of this movement. Tom Brokaw anyone.

Interesting that this would be your response. Yes, we should go after ALL of them, but there is also NOTHING wrong with finally putting the face of THE most historically marginalized and largely ignored victim at the forefront of our of current concerns...The Black Woman/Girl!

I've boycotted R. Kelly since his first trial back in tgecday. How can anyone listen to his music and not see all those young girls he abused?

I don’t have issue with it just why announce it. If he stop play Kelly music I doubt many would’ve noticed anyway. Most have all music downloaded to some device anyway

It doesn’t count. Isn’t he about to retire in like a year or two?

-
And that’s a full “...year or two” of NON-Play, & NON-Pay for RKelly (regarding the TJMS platform at least...) One platform probably won’t really hurt RK’s pockets, but Tom has a platform as well as a social responsibility—as do we all. This will get a LOT bigger than just Tom!
-
Will they also stopped playing songs written and produced by him too. That would mean artists like Charlie Wilson, Aliyah, Michael Jackson, etc
-
That would be a question for someone with a platform such as Tom’s to answer, because I really couldn’t tell you, though if I had to wager a bet on it, I’d say probably not. But that in itself doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t take some sort of a significant stance, because re-

fusing to play his music could also have the dual effect of artists in the industry choosing not to work with him because of the stigma attached to an R. Kelly project...I can’t say for sure, but I know that we have to start somewhere so that he and others will hopefully get the

message that we value our women and girls too, and they will NOT be victimized without accountability. But you know what an even bigger message would be? For the women who are “of age” to know their true value, in hopes that they don’t fall prey to his type of negative influence
-
Thank you! We all share social responsibility and must start somewhere. May not be the “perfect” (don’t know what the definition of that) solution but each of us taking actions would make a big impact in the future just like Colin Kaepernick has been doing.

I agree with you 100%!
