Didn't anyone in-store speak up? Do anything to help? I believe it's up to me (and other white people) to call this stuff out when we see it unfold. Just standing by is tacit approval. That means having awkward talks with friends, family, neighbors as needed, too! #NoBystanders

Umm, she just said no one did anything, and thanks for the lesson on how to handle it. We already know how to act as blacks when people started spewing racist crap. We ignore you and feel sorry for you. Get next to yours and DO IT, don't just spew it.

the sad thing is, as someone who has grown up in the south (actually nashville), this did not shock me at all. i have seen things like this happen many times in a variety of stores and it's heartbreaking that this is reality.
-
But do you speak up? My example: back in the 70s I took a bus trip through Georgia on spring break and almost punched a white waitress for not serving our 2 black friends at a diner.
-
honestly, I didn't. I am a teenager and back when I used to see things like this frequently, I didn't even know what racism was. In the past year, I have grown and learned so much, and next time I see something, I will say something. all we can do is learn to better ourselves.

When will the DOJ investigate White Identity Extremists?
-
They won’t. They’re too busy making black activists into the bad guy. Go figure.
-
They'll say it was an ANTIFA false flag operation. Watch.
-
I’m sure someone is already on it lol

Please advise this woman to contact MNPD about this and any future incidents like it. 615-862-8600.

The messed up thing is the police cannot be trusted to protect and serve Black America. Every interaction a PoC has with law enforcement increases the likelihood of police brutality, unlawful arrest and even murder, most often without any LEO repercussions.
-
I teach this and also live here; don't need your lecture. I encourage you to research Chief Anderson--not typical.
-
I said nothing about anyone named Chief Anderson. Fourth time: Are you denying the accuracy of my statement?

I would expect the authorities to follow up with this woman to verify her story. If not they need to contact her & get a statement
@MNPDNashville -
Honestly, with the unprecedented rate of police brutality and murder of unarmed Black people and other PoC by police in the US, I would be afraid to contact police without a lawyer present—even if I was the victim of a crime like this woman and her child.
