Having been to Memphis twice in the last year, this is pretty unfortunate. They need every dollar to assist with the depression around the city.

How is this legal

This is blatant racism! The "good ole boys" are punishing an entire city because they disagree with them. Such hatred!

And in 1 day a gofundme has raised $50K from donations to replace those funds...

And these are America's leaders? We can do better. We have so many Americans we could honor with memorials in which we can all feel pride & inspiration. Google "my state rep"/enter your zip code/type in name of your pick for city statue/hit "send". Let's flood 'em.

Make you vote count. Hold these Republicans response for their pettiness.

Man I used to live in Tennessee- the worst part of it all is that this is probably the tip of the racist iceberg.

This is a trump move! Threats & punishments by withholding money. That should be against the law in every state! Why are the nasty trump fans getting everything they want by threatening & undermining? Lie, cheat & steal. That's just what mobsters do. Trump learned it from them.

After actual Nazis marched...and murdered...in the name of the Confederacy last summer, and were accepted as "fine people" in #TrumpsAmerica, there can be no more debate about what the #ConfederateFlag symbolizes. The ONLY question now is what side of that ideology one stands on.

I moved to TN from Vermont 12 years ago due to family circumstances. Little parts of me have died daily since.

Note to self... stay out of Tennessee. Will not visit
