But why just Starbucks? Doesn't seem like it was "Starbucks culture" that caused this. Unfortunately, could've happened in any establishment in most of this country. Personally, I think we're getting too caught up in making Starbucks the "problem" here.

That's exactly what I just commented. The Philadelphia police have a part in this as well. Perhaps a bigger part I think anyway.
-
Sure, but beyond that just American culture and what we teach people.
-
Definitely. So glad my parents both have amazing morals and taught me well as a child. If I ever saw this I would stand up and speak and don't know what everyone there didn't. This is not how you treat anyone. Regardless of race or social differences.

Y’all are soft. Let them continue their business without us. Blacks are Always looking and taking the smallest piece of an apology. 1-day of training, THEY lose a few million in revenue. Blacks get a Symbolic victory? Blacks still losing.
-
Demand that they donate the 1-Days revue (millions) into Black media companies, HBCU’s, etc....
-
That's too much like doing the right thing. Something
@Starbucks isn't familiar with

Seriously tho, this is a GREAT start. Way beyond the usual corporate lip service. They're making a (big $$$) investment in anti-racism. Hopefully this will educate Starbucks workers AND send a message to all the folks who will be missing out on their coffee that day.
-
An anti-bias training component ought to be part of training in EVERY business. Shocking that this isn't standard in 2018, but glad were finally getting there.

Not only Starbucks should take steps to stop racism and cooperation across this country. All major companies in this country should stop racism in the companies.

They are bringing in national and local experts from various organizations, including the NAACP Defense Fund

agree...and I'd like to see police departments nationwide make a pledge to acknowledge and train for racial bias. Their bias leads to many deaths and in this Philly issue, they were part of the broader issue.

They are a pretty liberal company so I don't understand what the employee was thinking. The Philadelphia police have their part in this as well. I'd even say a bigger part.
