Because who buys food or a drink and then goes to the bathroom??? Who wants to eat something after it's been in a public restroom? People are lying if they claim they wouldn't do the exact same thing.

Meet Brandon Ward. He was @Starbucks - about to make a purchase - and needed to use the restroom.
They denied him the code.
He then finds a white man, Weston, who came out of the restroom.
He had not made a purchase but they gave HIM the code.

This is clearly not an isolated problem for Starbucks. Here they deny a Black man the code to use the restroom, but let a white man, who had not made a purchase, use it - giving him the code.

Many people walk into restaurants and immediately go to the bathroom first, sometimes just to wash their hands. Why is there a prescriptive way to use the store?

There are 14,000 Starbucks nationwide. The company has existed since the 70's. These incidents are few and far between and should be dealt with locally instead of feeding a false narrative.

While this is another jacked up PR nightmare for Starbucks what I don’t get is why THIS coffee chain seems to be the only business with accessible bathrooms? There’s no gas stations,McDonalds,other fast foods places etc in the area?! a lot which don’t require codes or keys.

Maybe just maybe he went there to purchase something but wanted to use the restroom first like most people. I don’t know anyone who just goes to Starbucks for their restroom ambiance.
