Many people don't realize arrest w no charges filed still has consequences. Cops say they did nothing wrong.Arrest records go to the FBI. Expunged from state doesn't mean expunged from federal. Feds aren't required to follow state expungment orders. Fed expungment may be needed.

I think it's an important start. The company could have easily tried to blame this on 1 racist employee and fired him without doing more. Recognizing that this is a broader/systematic problem and being willing as a company to actively train people on the issue is a big step.

How is a start not enough?

To start, the CEO should lawyer up and make sure their records were expunged (if they were processed). That’s how you look out for the community. An apology and staff training not gonna help if this incident shows up in background checks (of those men).

They were NOT charged so there’s no record to expunged. He’s apologized, owned the mistake, reached out to the 2 men and wants to make change for the better and we’re saying that’s not enough a few days after the incident...Sometimes I feel we just want to stay angry.

Being charged and processed are two different things. Excuse me of my terminology is wrong here but they are processed before seeing a judge who found no charge against them. This arrest, although not charged, will show up on background checks for future employment.
