(2/2) and hid the fact that white owners were out to shut down the Negro Leagues without having people realize and understand the nature of integration. Systemic racism too often gets overshadowed by the idea of “integration.” But integration doesn’t always mean equality.

The issue with integration is it wasn’t integration for the sake of integration. It was integration for the sake of halting the growth of black business and economies while putting on a show of “look we accept you now!”.

Was that not part of what the civil rights movement was about? Equality and integration so everyone would be viewed as one people, Americans. Your view on hay really surprises me considering all the work you do. Can you explain that more?

I donno Mr. King. i dont think the answer is black only or white only anything. much of the wealth that was lost to black people and families, imo, was due to preditory capitalism. Preditory capitalism exacerbates inequality and institutionalized racism

We as a people are also complicit in that destruction. We did not support many of those businesses and unfortunately and sadly contributed to many of them going out of business.

So what about the negative effects if they failed to integrate? And how long do you really think they would go without integrating? It was going to happen and I wish it happened earlier so players like Josh Gibson and Babe Ruth and others could’ve played on the same field.
