He was right to question it then as we are right to question it now. We have to question the way our economy and society are structured. We must come to realize that poverty and suffering are not just byproducts of our current system, but a necessary and key component.

You know it’s one thing to stand up against racism, another to stand up for the poor, because the latter opposes the corporate control/profits of and in this country. You can speak out against anything, just not this. King was utterly vilified when he organized for the poor.
