We need to challenge the leaders of our country, no matter which party they're in, on our national priorities. Puerto Rico's governor estimated that $100 billion is what's required to fully rebuild after the hurricane. We spent $2.4 TRILLION to kill a million people in Iraq.

We could take on major social ills and America and EASILY end them. I'm talking hunger, poverty, homelessness. These are a pittance compared to what we waste on the war machine.

He was right to question it then as we are right to question it now. We have to question the way our economy and society are structured. We must come to realize that poverty and suffering are not just byproducts of our current system, but a necessary and key component.
