1. Immigration & customs officers at JFK Airport in NYC just pulled me and my whole family out of the middle of the passport line. We just returned from Cairo. The officer literally called us by name, knew about our trip, and took us away for questioning.

4. We just made it home safely. FYI. Family was shook up a bit at first. Took us all to a secluded questioning room. What I know is that my Muslim friends deal with this ugliness every single day. Officer had clearly been reading my tweets and knew all about me.

CBP (Customs & Border Protection) is allowed to ask you to identify yourself, where you've been, what was purpose of trip, what you're bringing into US. Off limits are questions about political affiliation/opinions, religious affiliation/practice, personal life, work, etc.

Hey, Cair has some valid info. We all need to he aware of the questions that are reasonable and those that should be completely off limits.

That being said it certainly seems as if Shaun and FAMILY! were singled out and questioned inappropriately. Would be interested to know all the questions he was asked.
