How thoroughly broken is our system when the cops can kill someone and not only blame but charge and punish someone else for what they've done? This is so messed up I am having a hard time comprehending how far we've fallen as a nation.

Lawyers need to work within the law. If the elements of a crime can be proved then taking the plea deal makes sense. Laws need to be changed by changing legislators. But this kid didn't need this. It's a terrible lesson to learn.
