Stephan claims to be for human trafficking victims but she conflates and equates trafficking to sex work. Late last year she sent lobbyists to Sac. to oppose protections for victims. Much of her positions and work on trafficking have begun once she declared candidacy.

Of course! She sent lobbyists to oppose “SB-823” , a bill which helped offer victims of trafficking a second chance by erasing non-violent offenses put on a record while they were being trafficked.

That article is from 2 years ago. She opposed SB-823 late last year. Her weakness isn’t exclusive to one issue though. The reason is that she isn’t concerned with justice or a vision for SD, she’s just concerned with consolidating power for her and her allies.
Just to be clear - that bill passed in 2016, not 2017. Summer may indeed be conflating issues, but I've not heard this & I've heard her speak several times. Hi! If you search on google, you can find that the SD DA’s office under Summer’s leadership filed briefs in court opposing those bills. Even if Summer is acting like she opposes it in public , she doesn’t support it behind closed doors and that’s what matters.
