Since 2010, the idea that slaves built the pyramids has been challenged. There is quite a bit of information that "may" point to the builders being paid labor. Interesting reading.
Yes, I also heard about the payment records they discovered and translated pretty recently. In any case, the major pyramids were built well before the time of the Old Testament.
