Since 2010, the idea that slaves built the pyramids has been challenged. There is quite a bit of information that "may" point to the builders being paid labor. Interesting reading.

Yes, I also heard about the payment records they discovered and translated pretty recently. In any case, the major pyramids were built well before the time of the Old Testament.

If you can make it to Aswan, Abu Simbel is EVEN MORE - awe inspiring, magnificent and incredible on so many levels!

I'm a Canadian living in Cairo, and I can actually see the pyramids of Giza and Saqqara from my balcony.

It's much nicer when the pollution isn't blurring them out. Sundays seem to be the clearest days.

Tends to be pretty random. Been good lately (except for the apocalyptic sandstorm on Wednesday evening!). Summer we can't see far at all.

If you all get a chance Shaun, check out the Valley of the Kings & Valley of the Queens in Luxor. Amazing history. Plus the temple of Hatshepsut, perhaps the most powerful female Egyptian Pharaoh. Her story is incredible. Enjoy Egypt!
