Police unions area major part of the problem - they lobby for more and more weaponry and fight any deescalation training. Would love to know to what extent weapons industry finances them - prison guard unions as well.

More terrifying than the relationship with the weapon industry is the proliferation of surveillance and data collection third parties, the MOUs with whom law enforcement is not under any obligation to make publicly available.

Think: license plate readers, local surveillance cameras, for-profit companies who collect street level information, or facial recognition information.

This justice system is going back to the PD corruption of the 1930's, blatantly BUYING off DA's, how many more, how rampant is this corruptive disease ? This is just what were finding out about , the others are simply hiding it better for now.
