#DannyRayThomas lived a helluva rough life, but he was loved. He struggled mightily w/ drug addiction & mental illness. And before any of us knew him, something awful happened. No human being that is addicted to drugs should ever be sent to prison, certainly not for years and years on end, for their drug addiction. In Black communities, addiction (and poverty) are fully criminalized & weaponized. Back then he needed treatment - not prison.

Me too. This country failed him. I will continue to donate, march, fight and educate myself on the Black Lives Matter movement in his name and all of the other brothers & sisters in the Black community we have lost to police violence.
