Good call. I was going to call out the whole state of Cali for its fake progressivenesss, but the whole country deserves a mention.

Not just Sacramento-most blue cities and states have to come to grips with long and ongoing history of racism and biases - the first step for white liberals and progressives is to admit it

Marcos has great insights into many things. I have read his writings beginning back when he only on the sports page at Sacbee when I first moved to Sacramento in 1992. I still read him even those I left the area a few years ago.

Totally agree. I'm still here and I always enjoy listening to him on the radio and love reading his stuff. Good guy who wants whats best for Sacramento and all Sacramentans

It starts with the deference given to police departments. Democrats tip toe around calling out the police unions... choosing instead to speak in generalities about "progress". It's disgusting. WE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

I see it every time I'm down there for work. Reminds me a lot of the Pacific Northwest; pockets of progressivism closely surrounded by deep seeded racism and regressive attitudes.

Look Seattle and all the other cities on the west coast, the east and midwest are more diverse.

Powerful. The first step in healing community relations is admitting a problem exists in the first place.

It’s part of the Central Valley of CA which isn’t progressive to say the least.
