Billie Jean playing right now. I am literally serving as security. My job is to make sure no kids sneak through a particular door to roam the school.pic.twitter.com/MKkznvAcyE

The kids went crazy when this just came on. Middle school girls have their own dance steps for it.pic.twitter.com/HMhs6TZDfI

I wish I could film this one completely carefree boy who has danced all over the floor tonight. He gives ZERO FUCKS about what anybody here thinks about him. It's a mix between weird and badass, but he's having a blast.

Cool & how embarrassing when their parents know all the words Hahahahahahaa
-
My 11 year old was listening to the radio version of Forgot About Dre with his friend, thinking they were all cool. I opened the door and rapped the refrain and the looks on their face was priceless.

My son also does not understand how I know all these songs. Watches my sing em like I have three heads.

Hahaha. I've now got mine learning the Fresh Prince of Bellair theme...I told him he will be the coolest kid ever ;)

Husband and I took our daughters to MoPOP in Seattle last weekend and my 10 yo was baffled by Nirvana. Explaining the influence of grunge as a 36 yo mother of 2 was confusing for all of us.

-
.
@MoPOPSeattle is great. That’s how my then-13-yo got into Nirvana. She was like, “Mooooom, why didn’t you tell me Nirvana was so cool?” Move over Beastie Boys.

-
Geez mom
My daughter also has loved early Beatles and Elton John since she was a preschooler, so she's had some style opinions from an early age. Apparently grunge doesn't fit her aesthetic

Same feeling when you listen to the “Oldies” station on the radio and hear everything from high school.

Nirvana and Pearl Jam are now solidly considered to be Classic Rock. Kills me.

Knew it was over when my niece’s school dance oldies theme played ‘Baby Got Back’.
-
I'm in childcare and I CACKLE when all the grade 3s(it's always grade 3 for some reason) discover Baby Got Back. They're whispering it to each other like it's the biggest (heh) secret ever
-
That’s what’s so funny...it’s the “discovery”.

I remember being a kid in the 80s and going to my schools 50s sock-hop themed dances. So crazy
