Just learned that #DraylenMason went by Dray.
Dray and his wonderful mother, Shamika, were workout buddies and were about to go running. Dray found the package in front of his door and brought it in to the kitchen to open it.

Yesterday my daughter’s best friend was harassed on the street outside her home by two white men calling her derogatory names and telling her to go get her welfare check. Actually she is getting a PhD in Creative writing/British Lit thank you very much!
As if being on track of PhD is all that should vouchsafe her (or Draylen) from racism...I’m tired of this idea that black people are only worth LIFE if they are prodigies. It doesn’t matter where someone is in their life...no one deserves to be hated because of the skin color.
