I’ve never seen a group of people more confident in defeat, with less to show for their hubris, than the modern day Democratic Party. House, Senate, Presidency, Supreme Court, Overwhelming Majority of State Governments — all lost to conservatives. And they stay self-righteous.

Maybe separate ideas from candidate? And there's a lot of local races where Democratic Socialists are winning. You build something from the ground up. Why does everyone crap on the idea of shooting for loftier goals and candidates willing to aim for them?

It's this idea of compromise that Democrats have settled for since Reagan that has killed unions, worker protections, the safety net, etc. The GOP hasn't compromised in their goals for fifty years and they won because we never fought the battle in the same way.

I want fighters. I want an end to compromising with people who do not work in good faith and want nothing more than a return to the Gilded Age, which isn't far off. You don't compromise with reactionaries like that. You have to beat them, seize power & use it for the common good.
