I have a few non-negotiables, too. I like the politicians I vote for to not be actively disablist, racist or misogynist. AND IT IS A REAL PLUS IF THEY AREN'T SHILLS FOR THE NRA.
I have a few non-negotiables that I look for before supporting a politician. That list can’t be very long though. Below non-negotiables I have flexible preferences. Those still matter but must have bend to them.

My only two: Husband to one wife (if you don't have the fortitude to make your marriage work then you don't have the fortitude to make my country work). Strong policy to support and improve public education, teacher accountability, and student outcomes.
