You’re right. I don’t choose your friends. But I do choose whose leadership I respect. So does she. She might refuse to change her tune about Farrakhan but I won’t hesitate to change my opinion of you. I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

Shaun, we can't waiver in calling out bigotry regardless of who it is. I respect both you and Tamika and would never tell you who to befriend, but we don't get to pick and choose when we denounce bigotry because it's not convenient. Either his views are bigoted or not!

You're right, she's been very clear. And I don't like her clarity. People have been struggling to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she doesn't deserve that. She meant what she said. Very disappointing.

Why does she get a pass? Again, not leveling the field by making the same rules for all. You gotta know that it only reinforces the bias people say you have. Use the same logic for all. Friend or family, wrong is wrong. I dont deal with those whose views are a direct conflict.

Friend or not, your failing to denounce her support for an anti-Semite says something about you. Friends can agree to disagree. This is about what you stand for.

True. I much prefer this clarity and this kind of leadership:https://mobile.twitter.com/CornellWBrooks/status/971733913042333697 …

Being your friend is fine. Senator Gellibrand still considers Al Franken her friend. But she had the courage of her conviction to say that she couldn’t be a hypocrite and denounce sexual harassment if she wasn’t willing to do the same when her friend did wrong.

You know who else were friends? LOTS of people and Weinstein.

You don’t have to agree with her to still be her friend do you? It’s a bit odd that you’re taking this angle

No one should dare have the right to dictate who should be your friend. Moreover, I greatly admire Mallory's views and history for fighting for equal rights. However, I would hope that you would at least acknowledge that from a Jewish perspective, some of this is disheartening.
