I do not understand why she cannot at the very least denounce Farrakhan's views on several issues.

That’s fine. But I’m not going to “denounce” her.

Replace "Tamika Mallory" with the name of a random police officer who just got caught being racist and your tweet looks like what their police friends always say. Also, the thing with principles is that they apply when your friend is guilty too, not just when you can grandstand.

Mallory has done amazing things. I'm not sure I'm writing her off either. Farrakhan has some ridiculous/racist ideas about Jews which I do not agree with, but he has also done some amazing things for his community. I'm not sure how I feel about all this.

Well, I’m sure David Duke has supporters as well.

Fair enough, although a little unbalanced. I can't even explain why it feels different to me. So you win.

Not looking to win just disappointed in Shaun

So if someone has been friends with David Duke for 25 years, they shouldn’t denounce him?

This is extremely hypocritical of you. If its was “just a tweet” from a David Duke supporter I can’t help but think you would be singing a different tune.

Wayment...when did we as a society decide that you can’t denounce a friend’s position without denouncing that person as a friend?? I disagree vehemently with several people I would consider friends. A true friend can take sharp criticism and still be your friend.
