I am 19 years old and started getting into politics at 18. If you asked me, or 99% of my peers to vote 3 years ago, I can promise you that the decision made would be 100% based off of what my parents/family told me to put on the ballot. Let them be kids. They don’t care.

Most teens are intelligent and waiting until the finish the basic level of education is a good idea...of course everyone doesn’t finish high school, but most people do. Waiting for the legal age of 18 is fair because it’s helping to ensure an educated voting population

You do put it on the same level because it’s a mature decision and most 16 year olds aren’t mature

The harm is having even more ill-informed voters. Simply adding more voters isn't going to give you the outcome you want. There are already enough people who vote without knowing what their candidate stands for we don't need to add millions of kids to that pool.

Young people are easily manipulated. 16 year kid who relies on their parents could he forced to vote in exchange for housing it shouldn't but could get ugly.
