Ted Wheeler doesn’t think this is his problem. He thinks he is one of the people fighting this. As he arrests and beats those who actually are. Until we confront the fact that he is perpetuating this along with most of his class, we won’t see progress.

Not all of us have access to historical wealth nor can we raise a million dollars to be mayor. When someone buys an election for you, you answer to them. That’s the problem.

Moved here not knowing the history. Seen the racism. I believe the people here generally care. But the system is completely fucked. What a let down. I thought better of this place. Will probably find a more inclusive city at some point. Really wanted to believe in Portland.

I miss PDX. I will move back at some point. IT's wrong to leave it all to POC to educate against racism. It should not be their job to fix us. White people need to teach other white people. I think I make a tiny bit of a difference. I try.

Lots of people are moving to Portland every day, I have no official data, but my observations are that they are mostly white.

Oversaturating an already very white city. The people moving in don’t care, they want what they came to Portland for.

We did street-level ministry in formerly black NE PDX in the 2000s—gentrification has pushed African-Americans out of those traditional neighborhoods Eastward. That's causing racial tensions in formerly white Gresham/E. PDX.

it's actually the city "planning" moving folks out.. My uncle who was a PDX firefighter was telling me how... wow.
