I’ve heard the exact same thing from indigenous students who are expected to know everything about native trauma and history.
Every time slavery or segregation is brought up in school, me and my black friends are expected to be the experts. It's a strange uncomfortable feeling that is never addressed in the classroom, for everyone to have me in mind when thinking of slaves.
