Teachers can’t even claim supplies they purchase with their own money anymore. As a former teacher I would spend thousands each year in supplies and we were only able to claim $250 of it. We need to pay our teachers AND supply our classrooms (not with guns).

So here’s a shocker! Teachers have been way underpaid for years! Until you have worked in a School you have no clue what goes on. Having worked at a public School I myself have seen Teachers there until late at night. But no one sees that!

Our teachers do work every day that none of us could do. Imagine trying to teach a room full of 6 year olds to sit still for 5 minutes let alone teaching them how to read and write! We should all be fighting for them to be paid accordingly.

I didn't mean, *every* teacher in the state. But 6 figures is absolutely common on Long Island and within the NYC system.

Your last statement is very different from your first. I just wanted to clarify because in the majority of NYS, teachers are not making six figures let alone well above six figures.

Down staters like me think New York State is just NYC, Long Island and Westchester. Everything else is, "upstate." It's really funny cultural thing.

This is why I'm for the teachers in WVA. 100 ys ago coal miners did it. Today its the teachers. Many conservative decisions are anti-union for worker compensation/benefits. WHY DO PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY CARE MORE FOR POLITICAL POSITION THAN FOR THE HEALTH AND CARE OF THE PEOPLE
