Hey. For clarity, they want more than a payraise. It's also about affordable healthcare premiums for the public employees' health insurance. For a lot of teachers/public workers, that's the bigger issue. There's a fair portion of WV public workers that barely miss Medicaid.

My daughter had one teacher with a Masters in Education leave the classroom to go into the management training program at Target because the pay is better. Her current teacher works at Olive Garden on the weekend to survive! Is sad teachers aren’t being paid live-able wages

Red states cut taxes & are all surprised there is no $ to pay bills for necessities, then count on forcing blue states to help them.

FL 3rd grade teacher here. The reason teachers end up making so little money is that they are good hearted enough to actually care about their students and end up making the compromise, only to find out later that the state/district had wiggled out fo what they formerly agreed.

This is sad. I don't make much but the little bit of money I do make, they're on strike to earn far less. The government can't even find the money to pay them decent wages, how are they going to find the money to give them bonuses for carrying guns in the classroom?
