The victims will suffer first though. Instead of getting a check from the city they will get a judgment against somebody who has, in many cases, just lost their job. This isn’t about holding cops responsible, it’s about the city and the department dodging responsibility.

Can be written, STILL the City responsibility and liability to pay but City now can dock the pay of Officer and go after the Officer(s) for reimbursement! This way those victimized do not have to fight individual Officers in court.

Money and the loss of it,has a way of making people get along a little better. This is huge . It will literally drop 100%. We will all watch as Suddenly nobody is racist anymore, so it will seem, but a beautiful start none the less

Nothing incentivizes good behavior than the threat of being personally liable for bad behavior. This could do more than anything to clean up the acts of cops. Get this introduced at the federal level.

Deconstruct qualified immunity. Require cops to carry malpractice insurance. Bad cops will get priced out of the profession.
