I don't know how any family ever buys a house in New York. I want to buy a home here. I'm married and have 5 kids. I can afford to buy: 1. A studio apartment. 2. A home far outside of one of the 5 boroughs somewhere in New Jersey. A decent 2 bedroom is $1.2 million!

You know what. We thought hard about it. Our 16 year old is in a great school that we can’t leave. But I’ve also grown to loathe Georgia. I LOVE Atlanta.

This is nearly everywhere. In Vancouver and Toronto a 2 bedroom is well over a million dollars. No affordable housing is being built anywhere in the US, UK or Canada. And that’s on purpose.

“They” don’t care about us. Most young people who don’t have parents to help them out with down payment are leaving the city or paying rent much more than how much their mortgage would be. It’s ridiculous.

You can also just go upstate. You can buy a house under $500,000.

The boroughs are less expensive if you want to live in Manhattan it’s going to cost you dearly

If you want that its tough. I know alot of people that moves to the Poconos but then the commute is 1:30 each way. I used to commute from Jersey (New Brunswick area) to the city Up @4:30 back by 7pm 3/4 acres good schools but half dead Pappi -

. Well, I’m not thinking that far. I’m thinking Yorktown Heights, Mohegan Lake, or Mt. Kisco! The houses are huuugeeee for a pretty decent price. Higher property taxes though. But schools are top-notch! -
Those are all really nice areas Mr Kisco et al close to the city schools awesome. Be prepared to cut the lawn
