Wasn’t Sandy Hook in CT and San Bernardino in CA where it’s already illegal for those weapons and yet they were legally acquired and used? Don’t think banning guns that 15 million people already own is the best solution (if it’s even a solution)

It's one of many solutions. The ban in CT happened after Sandy Hook. We can't use the presence of one shooting cause us to say bans don't work. For all we know, those bans prevented dozens or hundreds of mass shootings.

I think it's
#progress...but also I believe metal detectors are more viable as far as one of the concrete solutions that don't require a constant back and forth over WHO should be allowed to carry an assault rifle.#MyTwoCents - End of conversation

The Assault Rifle ban from ‘94-2004 didn’t really slow down mass shootings but some say it’s too small a sample. People just used other means to commit murder. The VT shooter used a 9mm pistol. AR are just popular right now.

Until there’s a national ban, people will continue to buy and bring in. Ban universally, enforce vigorously.

I get your point but we can’t even figure out the illegal immigration thing out, build a wall that will work they said, hasn’t. Illegal drugs same thing pour money into a pit and have an epidemic... it’s a culture issue

It’s sad that local and national Leo knew the threat this individual represented and did nothing about it and here is the sad result. Would you really trust the same people to enforce something like this ban? Just wondering.
-
Excellent question if your goal is that we do nothing.
-
We as a nation and people need to do something I agree there. But if we are counting on the same system and law enforcement that failed in this case how do we do something?
-
Mistakes made, new policies put in place.

Or new people but in charge

And make sure concealed carry reciprocity doesn’t happen. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/38?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22concealed+carry+reciprocity+act%22%5D%7D …
