First day my mom came to visit me in NYC, a giant three-legged rat ran past us near Carnegie Hall. Seconds later, a man in a cowboy hat strolled by and drawled, “When they’re that big in Texas, we rope and saddle ‘em.” DAY 1: IT WILL ONLY GET WEIRDER, MOM

Back in the day when I went to school in Sheepshead Bay, a similar thing happened... we l BOOKED. Then out of nowhere an older gentleman emerged with a cane and swatted the kitten-sized rat about 3 feet. He proceed to ROAST us, and we couldn't help but to laugh in agreement.

Stuff of nightmares. Am still a bit traumatised by sheer number of rats the size of Labradors i saw in Central Park last trip to NY

On one visit a friend managed to get me out of the way before I could notice what apparently was a pack of big rats in Central Park...nasty!

I remember walking in the Village towards Washington Square, years ago. Something ran across my feet as I was walking so I kinda punted it. I thought I had just accidentally drop kicked someone's cat. Sure enough, a rat was flyin' and so was I... in the opposite direction.
