People need to be reminded 5mil members is 1.5% of Americans. Of those members many will be forced or lapsed, even if the 5mil figure is correct. Arguably, 1% of Americans may actively support NRA policies. The wants of 1% should not dictate GOP policy.
I think our public plan on gun reform has to be much more sophisticated. I actually like what we all just did to pressure companies that were attached to the NRA. I think it makes the NRA the pariah that they should be. But we need a plan that everybody knows and can act on.

There has been talk of an alternative membership group to representative the interests and culture of gun owners as an alternative to the NRA. I haven’t heard any follow up though....

1. Ban all semi and automatic weapons. 2. If that fails, then any sale of semi and automatic weapons requires certified training, full registration, and liability insurance. Simple and enforceable.

the problem is not the work of the FBI, it is the NRA interference in the récord keeping and registration

Pfui. The NRA was the ones who found out some seven million records were not forwarded to the FBI. Laws already exist and are not enforced.
