As someone that grew up with their school flag being the confederate flag we've struggled for years to teach it's true meaning and replace it along with the confederate soldier mascot. In that area it's literally thought of as a symbol of rebellion. We can't just tell them...
The confederate flag is one of HATE. One used to represent white supremacy and induce fear among the black community for years.
Don't tell me it's "just a flag"
It is a hate symbol.

it's bad, we have to educate why it's bad, not just because of it being racist, they won't just believe that. We have to teach that it was created by a person claiming it's their good given right as a white person to assert their authority. Here's a good meme to share

Did you know the NRA was the first civil rights org in the US to help protect blacks? The provided guns to ex-slaves to protect themselves from the KKK democrats who were terrorizing them and trying to keep them from voting. Today they are demonized. Talk about an injustice!
