Our education system is not failing. Our federal, state governments, parents, and communities are failing our system of education.

Our education system ranks 17th out of forty countries why are we not failing?
-
Part of the reason people view education as failing when compared to other countries is because, by law, we educate all students while many other countries don't. Plus:https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/whos-failing-its-the-system-not-the-schools/ …

I watched my children go through school and seeing the change in teachings was crazy. If I hadn't given my babies book reports and shared the history that I have learned that wasn't taught I don't know where they would be

@ShaunKing That is because the privatization of the prison system is big business and makes more money for the "fat cats". It is why you have more prisons than schools...no money in it! Privatization allows for those in power to set the terms and gouge the citizens to cover it.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I heard about two school closures last week. CA has 32 kids to a classroom starting in 4th grade. We are scrambling for funds and programs to engage and teach kids while families are under siege. Yeah giving all that money to the 1% is going to makes things much worse.

Add the gun violence teachers and students are living in fear of as threats pour in across the country? My own child’s school included. We had to decide if it’s safe or not to attend school tomorrow
