Every time this happens I hope for someone influential to say "OK, well let's talk about that mass shooting two months ago instead for which we DO have all the facts and for which it certainly can't be said this is a knee jerk reaction"

We all know that 30 mass shootings in the United States so far is not enough data. By the time we get to the end of the year and there are 120 of them then maybe we'll get close to having enough information. Maybe. Do I get NRA money now?

For context: School shootings stopped after Australia banned firearms. School shootings stopped after the UK banned handguns. NZ, which has more liberal gun laws than either, has never had a school shooting, but started with more restrictive laws than Australia.
