My roommate owns an AR-15 plus other firearms and he’s not a threat to society. He goes out into the country and shoots in a safe environment at targets just to blow off some steam. Guns have never and won’t ever get up and shoot themselves will they? I think not!

Im black and he’s white. He’s a responsible gun owner and he even taught me how to use them as well. I’ve never felt safer in my life.
-
No1 is denying that there are many responsible gun owners. Guns will never be banned in this country. However, we are the only country where this happens regularly, and we can’t keep saying “people kill people
” & doing nothing. What is wrong w stricter background check? -
You’re right! I was speaking from my life experience to the person who made the post. “people who have these guns aren’t mentally fit for them” like huh? That’s all but I totally agree with you! We do need to become more punctual than ever on who has the right to bare arms.
-
Gotcha. I get where you’re coming from. I don’t want responsible gun owners to get lumped in the wrong group, but unfortunately they probably will in this situation.
-
And to be honest that is why there is such a fight about the gun control laws. I do everything I can for gun safety, and in the times I think I would really like to have my gun, ie. church, I am told to leave it at home. I get it, I shldn't need in church but of course I do.

Glad to here! Good to know someone is implying safety out here as best as they can. I totally understand though my step father is the same way with wanted to have his on him almost 90% of the time.

It's time to start prying AR-15s from fingers.

You're welcome to try...

What on God's green earth do you need an AR-15 for, Kurt H?

Yes!! Is the military threatening them? Because those should only be allowed for military purposes
-
I'm a US Marine, no longer on active duty, and I use my AR for military purposes, to wit: to close with and engage by fire and maneuver. Still not a good enough reason for you? Too bad...
-
What does “to close with” mean? Asking seriously, not to be a jerk. I thank you for your service, &respectfully disagree that assault weapons should be available to the average citizen. If in a situation where military active and inactive need to be engaged, get to a base, no?
-
To close with is generally a term which means "to get closer to" or "to get within reach to engage", depending on weapon type.

No one should “need” to own an AR-15
-
No one should "need" to identify as a race that they aren't either but hey...

It’s fear, fear of the other, fear of the unknown. It’s a emotion not a mental illness.
