Can we have one moment of joy? Everything has to be criticized and downgraded. They didn’t give him a gold medal for being a “good” human being, when they do you can bring this crap up. My god.

Also, maybe we should stop idolising athletes. They're people and thus encompass the whole spectrum of human nature, from horrible to wonderful

I’m good with not idolising them.

Regardless what he is, he already settled it in court. Let’s focus on those that haven’t had there justice and need their story’s told.

You are both Shaun and you are both white. The difference is that he had great achievements in his life, while you are just priding yourself with a skin color that you don’t have.

The

fans are so fp in their head that they don't even care for "innocent till proven guilty" . Are girls "saints"? and guys "evil"?. Especially in this crowd? - 3 more replies

I always have a problem taking the side of someone who goes straight for a civil suit and doesn't press criminal charges. Criminal charges = He needs to be stopped. Civil charges = I needs to get paid.
-
Except that's completely inaccurate. The burden of proof is different and charges aren't up to the victim, they're up to a prosecutor, but you can bring your own civil suit. When coming up against a national icon you might not trust a jury to get it right.
-
I'm not seeing what's inaccurate. She didn't file charges, ( people do that, prosecutor decides if there is enough to go to court). And she went straight to a civil suit. Never said which one was easier. Just stating the usual outcomes between the types of cases.
-
your assumption of the reasoning behind the different court processes is inaccurate. You have no idea why she went the civil route. Like I said, the burden of proof is different, and in many of these situations it's he said/she said and when you're accusing a national icon....

Yeah but he is not a Republican, a Trump supporter or an old white man so no one is going to care and the outrage army will give him a pass.
