The saddest part is that DNA testing has been widely available for nearly half the term of his sentence.

That's the real crime. If they were able to get DNA now any case that used an eye witness or fingerprints should have been dna tested. Going with the longest term prisoners first!

Rape kits are notortiously backlogged even and or especially even in major cities with more resources. We need to clear the backlog and address previous injustices

This chronic and longstanding situation reflects an unbelievable poverty in our societal priorities.

Malcolm Alexander! After a lifetime spent behind bars 4 being black. Upon seeing his Son N grandson he smiles. The regalness of the black man is on view 4 the World. Jeff Session, your Anglo American system terrorized this man's soul. God bless him greatly! He still smiles.

This story is precisely why
#believewomen is so dangerous. Due process is supposed to protect us from biases and prejudices. So how do we reconcile the need to help and strengthen women in sexual assault cases, while also protecting other innocents? It can be done! But how? -
The problem is not believing women. The problem is DA & police creating a case against an innocent person that never existed. They do this by falsify'g factual evidence &/or conceal'g evid of innocence. If the DA/cops did their job thy wld be uncovering facts wherever they lead.

And if the woman would have chosen to not select this man from the lineups (a moral choice considering that she truly didn't have any idea of who it was), he would have never been imprisoned. The case needed her testimony

See if I was this man I would be going right back to jail....because as soon as I got out I would be in the hunt for the chick that had me locked up! She would for sure have a reason now!

You just spoke my mind, I can't and won't take it

I'm happy he's been exonerated but heartbroken that this happened in the first place

I think the more appropriate term for his disappearance would be "enslavement."

This is why people have no faith in the police and justice system. It is criminal what they do to people.

You can not put a price on freedom. He should be very angry. His accuser should go to jail in his place.

And he still smiles. Oh, how wrong our world is. I hope he and his family find some happiness and he is compensated substantially. I know it doesn't make up for time lost, but he deserves some restitution.

This is precisely why the death penalty is a horrible idea.
