The EU Ref was never a binding vote to begin with, meaning they could’ve taken the results and done nothing with it. So there’s no reason - if you take into account the slender 52-48 split that’s never usually enough of a majority to go through with any vote - we should’ve.

But the stubborn Tories (well, a majority anyway) won’t vote for a second one. Plus, so many Little Englanders would revolt if their vote was dismissed, after the Leave campaign allowed their bigotry to become a justified reality.

It’s easy. No one knows what the final deal is going to be. Parliament could give us a vote on whether to accept that or reject it.
-
Sadly although that may happen - a vote on the final deal - the only options that will be put on ballot will be accept deal or leave EU with no deal. Neither Labour or Tories are putting forward option for Ref2.

-
Meant to add if deal is rejected that should trigger second referendum.
-
Really upsetting thing is that we will not get chance to elect a govmt willing to call 2nd ref until after we have left. And even then - if
@UKLabour does not change position- who do you vote for? -
I know. We’re all fucked.
-
Time for us to all head off somewhere like Shetland away from what the fek is going on mostly in England Or the Faroes - and so stay in Europe!
-
Yeah it would be just our luck to head off to Shetland and then get murdered.

To have another referendum would require the UK Parliament to vote for one. However both the Labour and Conservative Parties are committed to implementing Brexit and respecting the referendum result by their most recent election manifestos.
-
British public is also somewhat suspicious of a 2nd ref as many people voted Brexit cos they felt like politicians & the elite hadn't listened to them for far too long. Therefore a 2nd referendum may smack of the elite saying 'you'll vote again til you give the right answer.'
-
Many also voted Leave because they were promised a bunch of lies, bought the rightwing smears, and some because they’re bigoted and dislike foreign people

Has to be called for by the Prime Minister and passed trough Parliament. Unfortunately this is almost certainly not going to happen
