Would this be violation of the Stolen Valor Act of 2013, making this a federal crime?

if he portrayed himself as s vet who was awarded an honor/medal & then obtained
,property,or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award...it is now s felony. If he just lied about service to achieve the same gains...it is only a misdemeanor

Claimed to serve in Iraq, which would gain him the Combat Action Badge (honor). Then obtained, I am assuming, a paid leadership position based on that service. Not really cut and dry, but wouldn't mind seeing an aggressive prosecutor try it.
-
Just serving in Iraq does not earn a soldier the Combat Action Badge. You have to engage or be engaged by the enemy. Just going will get you an Iraq campaign medal/ribbon though.

Is the CAB the one that looks like the expert infantry badge? None of us Chairborne troops got that. I wont say none, but I didnt know anybody (SigInt) who got an actual Kentucky rifle looking blue plaque. Tho I think I confused it with a badge our babysitters passed a test for.

No, thats not what I saw. At least I dont think thats what it was ... I didn't want to climb into Top's lap to look at his salad!

@RobertIrvine@GarySinise Sadly a small but growing amount of Veterans are toxic. The attitude of Trump encourages intolerance -
This guy isn’t a Veteran. You must complete 2 years or half of an Enlistment to be considered a Veteran. This POS is just a lier and a joke. Please don’t mistake him for those who have done their time Honorably in uniform in service to the country. Not one of us

I appreciate and realize the Vast Majority of Veterans are not only Honorable, but deserve better wages, benefits, and Most important, better VA Care. Thank You!

Bone spurs maybe?

-
I served, but I was never deployed to war. No reason to lie about it.
-
Deployments don’t make the troop but that doesn’t mean your service wasn’t important. You know this and thanks for serving brother.

Leading up to the war in Iraq the DOD relaxed its policies on rectruitment and issued waivers for all sorts of things. Highly suggest this book. https://www.versobooks.com/books/1780-irregular-army …

Neo-Nazis and far right hate groups have long encouraged their members to join the armed forces to get training and experience.
