Just awful. His family has been saying since November that they knew something awful happened. It clearly did.

Why didn’t he just stop, driving.
-
Why not barricade his car? Why not use spikes? Why not negotiate him out the car first? Why are bullets the first thing to mind when it comes to conflict resolution? Is this what officer feel is necessary or is it their training? Death isn’t the only way to handle this situation.

Can’t argue that but let’s not let hypotheticals distract from reality. He needs justice! He probably had family who wondered why he didn’t come home that night. I’ve witnessed cops de-escalate worse situations without firing a shot.
#PoliceExecutions needs to stop. -
They won't get any justice! What he gets laid off 2 weeks instead of being charged with terroristic threats and murder based on background. Courts always side with police. Its important to watch the ppl being put in judicial jobs 4 life by trump. God help the family! USA sucks
-
Careful
@pergolaman, USA is my home. Our system may be broke in some ways but don’t think for once Germany has a saintly history or that the repercussions of your country’s dark past doesn’t reverberate today in US culture. -
we don't have the right to be "above everyone else" as a better country any more. No country in the world has a "saintly history".
-
No they don’t. My point was aimed as his final comment... “USA sucks.”

Moving your vehicle toward a police officer telling you to stop is not "unarmed and nonviolent."
-
He was literally inching forward, turning, and stopping about every foot. It's not like he floored it.
-
What should the officers have done here?
-
I think the entire point of this argument is that the one thing I can think that they SHOULD NOT have done is shoot the driver 9 times at close range. Do literally ANYTHING other than that.
-
Like what?
-
Let him leave?
-
Sorry, but driving your car forward with an officer standing in front is not a "let him leave" situation. Cars kill people.
-
He's turned away from the officers, braking every time they get close to the vehicle. They have his license. The initial action was a minor traffic accident where this guy is the VICTIM. You are getting at the crux of the problem.
