83 people have already been killed by American police in 2018. That’s more than police in most nations kill in a decade. It’s more than police in some nations have killed in their entire national history. I know Trump dominates the news, but police brutality is roaring forward.

Because the NRA is paying off politicians to avoid doing anything about it, that leaves people and not enough are standing up against gun violence. You think after Sandy Hook there would’ve be a revelation. Vegas should’ve been the final straw.

I'm definitely against police brutality and agree it's absurdly out of control in the US, but can we report numbers in terms of per capita or use some kind of similar normalizing method going forward? It makes the numbers that much stronger.

The problem is that your Police assume everyone has a gun because most people do. They are frightened for their safety and that makes them nervous. Nervous people with guns are never a good idea unfortunately.
