No idea, but it was manageable in the sense of "Oh I had an unexpected disaster, thankfully the $300 in my rainy day fund was more than enough to cover it". One of the best parts of Europe is that you don't need massive amounts of saving to cover for any unexpected disaster.

Oh sure, I'm sure they make it annoying to make it not worth it for malingerers. I sort of like the small copays, kind of like buying a medical postcard. "I bought this subsidized surgery. This one is mine"
