Governing & legislating requires compromise. The Democratic Party has been a reckoning force this year and we need all members to stay active and vigilant, even in the midst of a set back. Division among progressives only strengthens the far-right movement in this country.

There is no division among progressives. There is division between liberals & progressives with the latter refusing to support corp politics where politicians represent donors over people. If the DNC wants unity, they need to stop dividing us. This is why we're in this mess.

We may need to play a long game here. Obama was good at that. There is no path to breaking the GOP hold on the government without a united Democratic party. This is no time for purity tests.

What is a purity test to you. If not voting for corp politics is purity, we have a big problem with the growing base. They expect us to fall in line bc the right is so rabid & abandon our principles. No more corrupt politicians just bc a D is in front of their name!

Short answer: Not taking half a loaf when you can get it and letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Obama told us it's not going to take one year, one term or even one lifetime to get to the mountain top, so we have to go a step at a time.

It was a necessity to do. Just for the military personnel. Dems don’t have any real power at this point until they take over the House and Senate. It’s a work in progress. As I support DACA, military soldiers and families shouldn’t be punished because of immigration disputes.

I ask that you consider: the only power Dems in Congress have now is 1) obstruct majority and 2) shape public opinion. They played a bad hand the best they could. To obstruct further eroded public good will. They got: more time to raise visibility for DACA and a CHIP ext.
