I’m confused right now, I understand what a govt shutdown is, and I’ve done my research and I see that it happens every time there is a solid line drawn between Democrats and Republicans, what is it this time tho? What did the GOP propose for DACA and CHIP what is their position?

there's other issues going on too like military spending money, but in terms of daca i think gop are just wanting to deal with it later, before the march 5 expiration. i think the split is that democrats want a long-term solution instead of short-term that gop is willing to do

In regards to military spending is it the Democrats arguing that too much is being given to the military and not to other things that matter?

GOP think that with the short-term bill given that there wasn't enough money given to the military

you think they know that the military gets the most money out of everything

Then when the bill is passed, we have to wait for approval for our backpay. Boy, comments like this really make me mad let’s trade places and you be a government worker. Maybe you will understand what we go through!

i appreciate you lose pay, and as a daughter of civil servents i’m with you. i’ve grown up with the benefits of being the child of public servents. but missing a few days pay is just a taste of what those who are truly oppressed experience all the time

We lose more than a few days pay. Then we have to wait for approval to get our back pay. Everyone should have health care but the illegals that are here need to go. They take our jobs from us Americans which isn’t right.

except they likey are. they should just say fu to hispanics. they will vote to fund the wall building. and then abanden dreams and children. 4 dems already said they will do it.

So our Soldiers don't get paid and still have to work because of this and it's ok as long as people get their DACA and CHIP? How is that fair to the soldiers? Mind you, I am all for those programs but not when our soldiers have to suffer.
