Interestingly - when I googled 'shithole countries', once I got past the news reports, about 95% of references to countries as 'shitholes' were written by people on neo-nazi and white supremacist websites.

Looks like Trump paid a porn star hush money for alleged sex acts while Melania was pregnant with Barron-& we’re arguing shithole/shithouse?

The word doesn't matter! It's the intent. His intent was to imply that the PEOPLE from these countries are also shitholes/shithouses so why would we want them. They can spin it, but he is a racist. ~ MaryAnn

Agree but "shithouse" is very common slang in Australia As in "Trump's a shithouse President and he's turning the US into a real shithole"

A racist is a racist regardless of whether he uses vulgar language or which vulgar language he actually uses. The fact anyone wants to defend him at all is
#sad no matter what he said still racist and zip, zilch, zero defense exists for this.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Even if Trump did say "shithouses" instead of "shitholes," it makes no difference - his blatantly racist statement still has the same meaning and intent.
