Shaun, this is very provocative but I'm not sold at all on Oprah. That said, as a marketer, I get your thesis & agree next leader needs some of what you lay out. IMHO, elder dems (aka Pelosi) are blocking younger D's who could step up in time for 2020. Big problem for DNC.

Yes, I did definitely. I probably glommed on to the Oprah part too much because it's driving me crazy everyone wants her to run. I agree on the whole with your thesis & agree it's not too early to discuss 2020 b/c 45 can definitely win. He's got 78% approval with R's.

Great piece, but why aren't you, or anyone, addressing the elephant in the room - the EC. As a CA voter, I'm sick of having my vote count for less than an Iowa or NH or rust belt voter, in both primaries & the general; of having my choice concede before I get to vote.
